    Research and Teaching Interest

    Our research is focused on the common fundamental research subjects involving in automotive transmission scientific discipline including the mechanism topology synthesis methodology of automotive transmission, the fluid-structure interacting vibrations of transmission system and the tribo-dynamics of transmission pairs. In particular, the novel designing theory and methodology suitable for multi-freedom and wider speed ratio transmission is developed. By using the newly proposed dynamic model for flat mechanical structure simulation, which uniquely takes the fluid-structure into account, the drag torque of the wet clutch is accurately modeled. The coupling mechanism between the micro-hydrodynamic effects of oil film and macro-dynamic behaviors is revealed, thus breaking up the bottleneck that constraining the improving of the rotary sealing performance. The applicant’s research has been utilized to develop the core components of hydrostatic steering system in tracked vehicles. The achievements obtained from the applicant’s research have brought the transmission technologies of existing tanks and armored vehicles of China to the international advanced level.
