    Research and Teaching Interest

Our research interests mainly focus on traffic behavior by exploring a variety of traffic data. The data come from questionnaire survey, on site survey, GPS recorder, and household travel survey. We explore traffic behavior of pedestrians, cyclists, taxi riders, transit riders, and car drivers, with respect to mode choice, departure time, trip length, trip route, number of trips / ridership, and so on. Meanwhile, influential factors, such as demographic feature, socio-economic feature, mode characteristics, travel characteristics, and even weather conditions on such traffic behavior are being examined. Findings of the study aims to lay a foundation for transportation planners or decision makers to perceive and know well how interior or exterior factors result in such traffic behavior.
