Background:
CIPnet is a joint project funded by ERASMUS+ KA2 – Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education. The duration of CIPnet project is from 15th Oct 2017 – 14th Oct 2020.
The CIPnet project is implemented in China as a Joint action and its general objective is promoting the modernization and harmonization of Intellectual Property Management practices in the higher education system, with a view to enhance university-industry collaborations and contribute to economic and social development.
To promote the modernization and harmonization of IP management practices in the Chinese Higher Education System, with a view to enhance university-industry collaboration and contribute to economic and social development.
The establishment of a National Higher Education Intellectual Property Management Network (CIPnet) as a learning platform to foster modernization, harmonization and strategic planning of IP management practices and regional integration in Higher Education of China.
The CIPnet activities, implemented by 7 Chinese HEIs and 3 EU HEIs, will be the following:
WP1 benchmarking and needs analysis activities will identify good practices on IP services and strategies in China and EU HEIs, will provide a good insight of the situation of the China HEIs in terms of the level of IP awareness and will create a database of IP experts in China.
This needs analysis activities will serve as the basis for WP2 capacity building on IP management. Participants will be targeted via face-to-face and on-line workshops that trainees will adapt for the implementation of the IP training workshops.
WP3 institutional building & sustainability will ensure that PC HEIs work in a coordinated manner taking advantage of their expertise via setting up a National HE IP Management Network with a strong networking focus. Sustainability will be ensured by the development of a Network strategy and sustainability plan.
WP4 dissemination set up a solid base for intensively disseminating the Network activities, fostering that new members join the initiative, contributing to the development of modern IP management policies for HEIs in China and widening the impact and exploitation of the project results beyond the consortium.
