Recently, the official website of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China announced the review results of major scientific and technological projects of the Ministry of Water Resources in 2022. The project of "Research on Bionic Robot for Dam Patrol Inspection Based on Integrated Joint Design" led by BIT was approved. This is the first time that BIT has been approved a major science and technology project of the Ministry of Water Resources. Relying on the school's bionic robot and special equipment and other advantageous disciplines, it has produced significant technology spillover effects.
"Research on Bionic Robot for Dam Patrol Inspection Based on Integrated Joint Design" is led by Professor Zhao Jieliang of School of Mechanical Engineering, BIT, and jointly declared by Beijing ZhongJiKeMei technology co., LTD, relying on the technical accumulation of the research team in the fields of robot joint dynamics and bionic robot, to study the integrated technology of robot joint reducer, Break through the technical bottlenecks such as low structural integration, large inertia, small driving torque, and weak impact resistance of mobile robot joint actuator, and apply it to the design of robot attitude adjustment and vibration reduction mechanism, reduce the vibration impact caused by non-continuous high-frequency contact collision on the ground, improve the intelligent unmanned operation ability of dam patrol inspection, and the ability to surmount obstacles in the unstructured environment such as dams, so as to realize the intelligent and unmanned dam safety monitoring.
In order to thoroughly implement the innovation-driven development strategy, fully implement the water control idea of "water saving priority, space balance, system governance, and two hands", strengthen water science and technology innovation, and improve the national water security guarantee capacity, the Ministry of Water Resources decided to establish a major science and technology project plan, and formulated and issued the Management Measures for Major Science and Technology Projects of the Ministry of Water Resources (SGK [2022] No.122). Major science and technology projects of the Ministry of Water Resources focus on supporting basic and applied research of water conservancy, research and development of major key technologies and promotion and application of advanced and applicable scientific and technological achievements. BIT has always adhered to the "four aspects", taking this project as an opportunity to break through the posture adjustment and vibration reduction technology of the dam patrol robot with non-continuous contact between the foot and the ground, improve the mobile robot's ability to surmount obstacles and the intelligent unmanned detection level of flood disasters, and promote the intelligent unmanned detection of China's water conservancy dams to the international leading level.
