BIT Invited Prof. Li Xianguo of the University of Waterloo for Academic Exchanges

On March 29, 2018, Prof. Li Xianguo of the University of Waterloo, Canada, was invited for academic exchanges with the School of Mechanical Engineering, BIT.

The title of his report is “Research on the Frontier Technology of Fuel Cell”. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Sun Baigang, and over thirty teachers and students listened to this excellent academic reports.

Prof. Li mainly reported the principles, development prospects, research hotspots, and academic frontiers of fuel cells, and introduces the work and achievements of the research team led by him in the field of fuel cell and internal combustion engine.

Prof. Li is a well-known scholar in the field of new energy conversion and utilization. His research interests include atomization and spray of fuel cells, liquids, wind energy, exergy analysis of energy systems, and improvement of energy efficiency in industrial heat transfer processes. He graduated from Northwestern University, USA. He is currently a tenured professor at the University of Waterloo, and is a professor of Cheung Kong Scholars of the Ministry of Education in 2006. He once served as the chairman of the 1st International Green Energy Conference. He is a member of many international organizations (AIAA, ILASS, ASME and CSME) and serves on the ASME New Energy Technology Committee. Prof. Li published 2 monographs on green energy, published more than 200 papers, and undertook 11 scientific research projects with research funding of more than 1,200,000 Canadian dollars. He is the current editor of Int. J. of Green Energy. He is also a member of the editorial board of more than ten academic magazines including Int. J. of Energy Research and Int. J. of Hydrogen Energy. He has won many honors such as the IEEES Best Paper Award and is now the Chairman of the Advanced Energy Branch of the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers.
